I'm really not feeling well, I actually spent this morning in the ER because I woke up at 6:30AM choking on nothing, and wheezing like an asthma attack...while not being able to breath much. After running all sorts of tests, everything posed negative, so the doctor assumed that I now have Acute Bronchitis, and that sleeping flat now will make me cough/choke like that because of my congestion. I came home around lunch, and took a nap (two pillows isn't enough I guess), and had another one of those attacks again. I'm really tired, and I'm a little nervous about napping again...so I'm gonna do a little posting and watching TV for a while. I'm beginning to feel knee-deep in illnesses & important things that turn my world upside down, all at once. I hope to reach the shore soon...and actually walking on two functional feet! Or I'll loose my head!
I decided to go the non-traditional route when it came to afterthought heels. I wanted my heel to look just like my toes. You know, to give it a subtle, "huh" effect. It looks like the toes should feel weird, because a star-toe decrease does look a little awkward...but it's not. It feels just like any other sock. Also, I knit these two-at-a-time, because of my serious case of Second Sock Syndrome!
64sts socks are usually a little large on me, so I decided drop it down to 60. I haven't done such a thing on size 2's, so I guess i shouldn't be that surprised that the stitches had to stretch a little bit in some areas. It's a catch-22. You lose, and you lose. Next time, I'll start off with 60sts, increase to 64sts around the heel, and when that is all said and done, drop it back down to 60sts. What can I say. My foot's weird. Needy, I guess.
